LiteLLM v1.105.0-dev.2: Docker Image Signing, New Providers, and Improved Tracing
The latest LiteLLM release adds Docker image signature verification with cosign, introduces a new OpenAI-compatible provider (Cortecs), enhances tracing with ClickHouse storage and OTLP ingestion, and refactors the internal Lens tracing engine with breaking API changes.
What changed?
LiteLLM v1.105.0-dev.2 introduces several relevant infrastructure updates for developers:
- All official LiteLLM Docker images are now signed using cosign. Verification can be done against a cryptographically immutable commit hash or a release tag.
- A new provider, Cortecs, is added as OpenAI-compatible.
- Tracing system enhancements: support for storing spend in ClickHouse and ingesting traces using OTLP.
- The Lens tracing engine and API have been renamed and refactored. This introduces a breaking API change.
Why does it matter to an everyday developer?
Cosign signing lets you verify that the Docker images you pull for LiteLLM have not been tampered with and originate from the expected release. This strengthens your supply chain security. The addition of Cortecs as an OpenAI-compatible provider gives you more flexibility in choosing LLM providers for your applications. Tracing improvements with ClickHouse and OTLP make it easier to store, query, and analyze request spend and operational metrics at scale. The Lens tracing API refactor may require you to update integrations if you use that internal engine directly.
