Amazon Bedrock: Automated Management of Private Pricing Offers with Managed Entitlements
AWS has introduced two new automation paths to activate AWS Marketplace Private Pricing Offers (MPPOs) for Amazon Bedrock models across multiple AWS accounts: a lightweight script for one-time use, and an event-driven CDK-based automation for ongoing management. These changes aim to reduce manual effort and ensure faster access to negotiated pricing for AI models across large organizations.
What changed?
AWS now provides two supported methods to automate the activation of AWS Marketplace Private Pricing Offers (MPPOs) for Amazon Bedrock managed entitlements across multiple AWS accounts. Previously, each account receiving a private offer had to manually accept and activate licenses. The new options are: (1) a lightweight, one-time script for quick, organization-wide activation of trusted licenses, and (2) a Cloud Development Kit (CDK)-based solution for ongoing, event-driven activation of entitlements as new Marketplace agreements are received.

Why does it matter to an everyday developer?
Managing model access and negotiated pricing across dozens or hundreds of accounts is challenging when it requires manual intervention. The new automation paths significantly reduce operational friction and risk of missing negotiated pricing by ensuring prompt activation and distribution of entitlements across an AWS Organization. Developers and platform engineers can now rely on automated grant handling, consistent audit trails via Amazon CloudWatch Logs, and more predictable cost governance when using third-party models on Amazon Bedrock. This makes it easier to attribute and monitor AI model costs and eliminates most manual overhead.
What can the developer do now?
Developers or platform admins can choose the automation path that best fits their organization's needs: - For a one-time, organization-wide activation (useful when all received licenses are trusted and no further automation is needed), run the supplied lightweight Python script. This method is quick, does not require infrastructure deployment, but does not offer seller allow-listing. - To automate ongoing grant activations for new or future Marketplace agreements, deploy the event-driven CDK solution. This approach includes seller validation, can scope grants to specific organizational units or accounts, and logs every activation attempt for auditing. Both solutions require the use of the AWS Organizations management account with all features enabled and are limited to License Manager-backed Bedrock models (not supporting SaaS products). Implementation instructions and sample code are available in the AWS sample repository. After grant activation, verify billing changes in AWS Cost Explorer, being aware that billing data may lag.
